1. Introduction and Definitions

This document governs the use of the mobile application Lyrical Exercise (herein referred to as the "App").

App Branding: The App is listed on stores as Lyrical Exercise but appears on devices as "Lyrex".

Ownership: The App and the website www.lyricalexercise.com are owned and operated by Van Simeon.

Purpose: This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information across both the Lyrical Exercise brand and the Lyrex mobile interface.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account (via Google Sign-In or Email) or using the App, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

3. Account Registration & Authentication

We use Firebase Authentication to manage user access. We offer two methods of registration:

  • Google Sign-In: We collect your email address, name, and profile picture URL from your Google Account.
  • Email & Password: We collect your email address and a secure, encrypted password.

User Profile: You may choose a custom username. Note that your username and high scores are stored in Google Cloud Firestore and are publicly visible to all users via the Leaderboard feature.

4. Third-Party Services & Data Collection

To provide a stable and high-quality experience, we use the following services provided by Google LLC:

  • Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): We show ads to keep the app free. AdMob collects device identifiers (Advertising ID), IP addresses, and approximate location data to serve relevant ads. Google’s Advertising Privacy Link.
  • Firebase Crashlytics: To fix bugs, this service automatically collects data about app crashes, including device type and OS version.
  • Firebase Performance Monitoring: We monitor app speed and network request times to improve your experience.
  • Google Fonts: The App makes requests to Google servers to load custom typography. Google may log your IP address as part of this standard web request.

5. In-App Public Gameplay Data

By participating in the Lyrical Exercise gameplay, you consent to your username and high scores being displayed publicly on our leaderboards to our authenticated app users. This data is essential to the core functionality of the App.

6. Account Deletion & Your Rights

In compliance with Google Play and global privacy laws (GDPR/CCPA), you have full control over your data:

  • In-App Deletion: Go to Settings > Profile (person icon) > Delete Account.
  • Web Instructions: Visit lyricalexercise.com/#account for manual removal requests.

Immediate Effect: Account deletion removes your email, profile, and high scores from our servers immediately and irreversibly.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use automated systems (bots) to manipulate scores, reverse engineer the App, or use offensive language in your username.

8. Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is." While we strive for perfection, we are not responsible for accidental data loss or service interruptions.
